Steel erection company Steel Masters L.P. chose the Liebherr LR 1300.1 SX crawler crane to meet the needs of large-scale tilt wall erection noting its capacity and ease of transport fulfilled its project requirements.

On its latest tilt wall erection project site, the Steel Masters team used the Liebherr LR 1300.1 SX crawler crane on three large buildings totaling 684,000 sq. ft. and 321 tilt wall panels all placed precisely by the Liebherr crane. The biggest project challenges included limited site mobility as well as the large size and massive weight of the tilt wall panels.
"The Liebherr LR 1300.1 SX was the perfect option under these conditions. The lifting capacity along with the advantage of easy mobility made the tilt wall erection go safely and smoothly," said Tyler Drake, crane manager of Steel Masters.
The Steel Masters team also used MyLiebherr throughout the project. MyLiebherr is a personal customer portal providing access to digital documents, spare parts availability ordering and real-time customer data.
"It [MyLiebherr] helps me in the field more than anything," Drake said. "The online manuals allow me to pull up quick breakdowns on the crane while working on site."
