Construction Equipment Guide

Superior Industries, the Morris, Minn.-based manufacturer of material handling systems and components, will launch new material handling, conveying and processing innovations at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2014 in Las Vegas, with an indoor site in Central Hall (Booth #51838); and an outdoor site in the brand new Platinum Lot (Booth #7602). Superior also will highlight its full conveyor component line at both booths. Superior Industries sales and engineering teams will be on-hand to discuss how these systems and components will boost productivity and efficiency in countless applications.

Zipline Conveyor

As a low cost alternative to traditional custom-engineered overland conveyors, the new Superior Industries zipline conveyor is designed for quick installation. Pre-engineered and available immediately on demand from Superior Industries dealers, the system is a complete package with the structure and an accessories kit that includes idlers, pulleys and an Exterra primary belt cleaner. The zipline conveyor is engineered for flexible modifications with each section designed to easily accommodate future additions or subtractions in length.

TeleStacker Conveyor With New XTP Axle

Showcasing the latest available marine-duty upgrades for this system, Superior Industries will highlight its 36 in. by 150-ft. (91 cm by 45.7 m) TeleStacker conveyor with its new XTP Axle. Rated for 1,000-tph (907 t) capacities, this telescoping radial stacking conveyor has long been applicable in aggregate stockpiling applications; however, at ConExpo-Con/AGG, the system will be equipped with a 20-ft. (6 m) telescoping discharge chute that is ideal for loading marine vessels. Its marine-duty covers include Superior belt covers on the main frame and a telescoping canvas cover on the stinger conveyor.

The new XTP Axle cuts setup time to less than two minutes, more than an 80-percent reduction in setup time over conventional swing-axle units. New power travel on the XTP Axle eliminates time-consuming chain installation. Also, unlike conventional axle systems, the XTP’s pivoting walking beam results in true tire alignment with a radial travel path that eliminates any tire scuffing, while maintaining the conveyor feed point to prevent potential spillage, according to the manufacturer.

RazerTail Truck Unloader

Superior Industries will highlight its RazerTail truck unloader featuring a 48-in. (122 cm) belt, an adjustable height discharge conveyor, and wireless remote control operation. At capacities averaging 1,000-tph and rated for 1.5-in. (3.8 cm)-minus lumps, this RazerTail truck unloader offers 60-second belly and end-dump truck cycle times, minimizes costly loader use, increases job site safety, and guarantees product quality by eliminating extra handling of materials in aggregate, recycle, construction, and marine handling applications. Requiring only a five-minute setup time, its onboard, self-cleaning truck ramps eliminate the need for earthen ramps. When used in conjunction with automated telescoping radial stacking conveyors, operations realize even greater quality control and cost-per-ton savings, according to the manufacturer.

Portable Screening Plant

Superior Industries is re-entering the portable plant market with the introduction of its new 8 by 20 ft. (2.4 by 6.1 m) portable screen plant designed for highly-mobile, high-capacity performance in a number of applications. Shortly after its founding in the early 1970s, Superior Industries was primarily known for its portable plants.
