Syracuse Equipment Owner Lawrence J. Lonergan, Dies at 56

Lawrence J. “Larry” Lonergan, owner of Syracuse Equipment Leasing Co., in North Syracuse, NY, died Nov. 9 of heart failure. He was 56.

Born in Patuxent River, MD, Lonergan lived in North Syracuse for many years before moving to Chittenango, NY.

Lonergan attended the University of Dayton and Le Moyne College and graduated from St. Gregory’s College. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Chittenango and was a former member of Liederkranz Club in Syracuse and Bishop Curley Knights of Columbus Council 3717 in Syracuse.

Lonergan is survived by his mother, Genevieve S. Lonergan, of North Syracuse; three sisters, Patricia L. Nicholson of Liverpool, Christine L. Stahlecker of North Syracuse, and Suzanne L. Fries of Ouray, CO; and a brother, Thomas J. of North Syracuse.

Services were held on Nov. 13 at Sears-Middleton-James Funeral Home and at St. Margaret’s Church, in Mattydale, and interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, in DeWitt, NY.
