Thompson Machinery and Weiler Inc. have signed an exclusive sales agreement. The agreement grants Thompson Machinery the exclusive rights to market select Weiler brand asphalt products in middle Tennessee, west Tennessee and north Mississippi. The portfolio of products includes remixing transfer vehicles, road wideners, elevators and commercial pavers. The agreement expands the product line that Thompson Machinery offers to its customers.

Weiler products primarily use Cat components. The alliance between Thompson Machinery and Weiler provides customers with support and service, and a comprehensive product line offering. The exclusive global marketing agreement between Caterpillar Paving Products Inc. and Weiler Inc. cements the relationship even futher.

Located in Knoxville, Iowa, Weiler manufactures equipment for the paving market. Weiler products are based on proven designs that have a successful track record in the field. Weiler has 176,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space. The facility is equipped with machine tools, weld area, powder and wet paint, and assembly, allowing Weiler to better control quality and delivery for the majority of its machine components.

The base designs for the self-propelled road wideners and asphalt windrow elevators were created by Barber-Greene, a company that was purchased by Caterpillar in the early 1990s. Weiler purchased the designs from Cat in 2005 and established the Weiler brand name. Since then, Weiler has made updates based on input from customers and introduced extensions to both lines as well as expanding the Weiler line by adding self-propelled material transfer vehicles, a commercial paver, and even most recently a static roller. Weiler continues to invest in improvements and fill other needs in the market.
