Roland Machinery Co., the Komatsu distributor, has three product support sales representatives that have been certified by Komatsu as product support professionals.

David Carlstead, Darryl Bergmann and Brian Dragan join an elite group of 35 other Komatsu product support representatives who have earned this distinction.

In recognition of this achievement, each received a watch designed especially for these product support professionals with the Komatsu logo and “PS Pro” on the face.

Carlstead, Bergmann, and Dragan also were honored at Roland’s awards dinner on Feb. 20, in Springfield, Ill.

“We are proud of David, Darryl and Brian,” said Gary Meister, product support sales manager at Roland Machinery. “Earning this certification required a lot of work from each of them. Their enhanced technical skills will improve our service to customers.”

Achieving the distinction of product support professional requires the completion of 100 hours of training courses.

“Komatsu designed a group of courses to train PSSRs to help their customers keep their machines up and running in the most cost effective and efficient manner,” explained Glenn Schindelar, national parts sales manager of Komatsu America.

The courses include basic and advanced undercarriage management and sales, Komatsu parts ordering and customer service systems, technical skills to use Komatsu’s machine monitoring system — KOMTRAX, Komatsu oil and wear analysis that predicts component replacement time, remanufacturing, ground engaging tools and basic machine operations.

Roland Machinery Co. has been selling and servicing heavy machinery since 1958. As the dealer for Komatsu in the Midwest, the company has fifteen locations throughout the area, in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Roland Machinery also carries equipment from ESCO, Hensley, Metso, Tiger, Universal, Valmet, Vogele and Wirtgen.
