West Side Tractor Sales held an event to introduce customers to the new John Deere P-Tier excavators June 25-26, 2026, at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Ill.
The new generation excavator launch marks one of the most significant machine introductions in John Deere's history. Deere has completely redesigned its midsize excavator platform from the ground up — combining more power, refined hydraulics, greater operator comfort and integrated technology.
For customers, that means higher productivity, easier operation, improved safety and better uptime through features like Remote Display Access, SmartGrade, Attachment Manager and Operations Center connectivity. Backed by West Side Tractor's specialists, certified technicians and dedicated support teams, these next-generation excavators deliver more than new equipment — they provide a smarter, more connected way to get work done.
Operators were invited into the cabs of the machines to put the new excavators to work in the demo area, as well as learn more about the updates from representatives of John Deere, as well as West Side Tractor team members.
"This is an exciting moment for both our customers and our team. We've had these next generation excavators out in the field at demos and events, and the response has been outstanding," said Brian Benck, SVP of sales, West Side Tractor. "Customers immediately notice the improvements in performance, comfort and technology. More importantly, they're seeing how these machines can help them be more productive every day."
"From SmartGrade and Remote Display Access to Operations Center and our dedicated technology support team, West Side Tractor is uniquely positioned to help customers unlock everything these machines have to offer," said Lauren Coffaro, SVP of marketing and technology, West Side Tractor. "We've invested in the people, training and resources to ensure our customers get the full value of this new generation machine."
Included among the machines were the 210 P-Tier and 230 P-Tier excavators. The redesigned excavators offer a new hydraulic variable pin-grabber coupler; a redesigned undercarriage to improve durability; a redesigned hydraulic system for faster cycle times and increased productivity; a redesigned cab; and extended hydraulic service intervals up to 6,000 hours to lower owning and operating costs, according to John Deere.
