Yancey Bros. Co. hosted an open house event at the company’s Yancey Surplus and Used location in McDonough, Ga., on March 28. The event was held to showcase how Yancey has brought together used equipment, used parts and rebuilds at one location in metro Atlanta, Ga. Additionally, the event showcased the overall capacity of the surplus and used division and provided a first-hand look at some of the work that goes into the Cat certified rebuilds that are performed at this facility. Industry veteran, Wade Forrester, directs the activities of Yancey Surplus and Used at the McDonough location. He and his staff had a nice turnout for this event.

Yancey Surplus and Used’s rebuild facility performs Cat certified rebuilds, certified powertrain plus rebuilds and general reconditioning on machines that are purchased with the intent of rebuilding and offering to their customers as an option alongside new and used equipment.

Yancey Surplus and Used provides its customer base with an additional service by offering another buying option. Customers purchasing rebuilt machines have the option of purchasing either a 3-year/5,000-hour, 24-month/10,000-hour or 12-month/6,000-hour powertrain warranty to complement the value of these rebuilt machines.

Opened September 2011, the 56,000 sq. ft. (5,203 sq m) facility is located in the interstate south industrial park off Highway 155 southwest of McDonough. The rebuild technicians working in this facility average twenty years of experience in the industry and take great pride in the products they are building for Yancey customers.

This is one of two Yancey Surplus and Used facilities, with the other located in the Savannah area in Bloomingdale, Ga., under the direction of Mike Sisco.
