Yancey Bros. Co., Georgia’s Caterpillar equipment dealer since 1914, has announced plans to open new branch operations of The Cat Rental Store in both Augusta and Calhoun. This will bring the current number of rental facilities operated by Yancey to nine in Georgia.

Yancey introduced The Cat Rental Store concept five years ago with the first location in Gwinnett County. Today, there are four stores in metro-Atlanta plus operations in Albany, Columbus and Savannah. All stores feature new Caterpillar equipment for rent plus a large selection of allied equipment for rental and purchase.

“We’re very excited about bringing The Cat Rental Store concept into these two new areas,” said Tom Tucker, general manager of Yancey Rental Services Division. “We hope to offer customers in these two markets a new and improved option to renting equipment by the day, week and month.”

The Augusta store will be located at 4165 Mike Padgett Highway (3 mi. south of the Tobacco Road and Highway 56 intersection), sharing space with Yancey’s Earthmoving division in the current Yancey Bros. Co. facility.

“We have ample space for a large equipment yard and will have dedicated service bays and technicians to take care of our rental equipment,” added Tucker.

The Calhoun branch of The Cat Rental Store also will share a facility with Yancey’s Earthmoving division.

“We plan on adding office space, an equipment yard and a couple of new service bays to our Calhoun location,” said Tucker. “Our location … is easily accessible to contractors and builders across northwest Georgia. We are going to have a large inventory of low-hour Caterpillar and allied equipment for rent.”

Both new Cat Rental Stores will be open for business before the end of the year. –– CEG STAFF
