Alex Lyon & Son held a late-model rental fleet auction on Sept. 29 in Las Vegas. The sale was held at Ahern Rentals' main yard on West Bonanza Road.

High-quality rental equipment was up for auction, including excavators, motor graders, grinders, loaders, backhoes, rollers, trucks and more from manufacturers including Caterpillar, Case, John Deere, Dynapac, Genie, Ditch Witch and more.

Also available were a variety of attachments, lighting, forklifts and trucks. Some items were sold unused.

An array of Genie S-60 boom lifts are on display for buyers to choose from.

Kevin Woods (L) and Bret Hafen of Woods Trucking, Salt Lake City, Utah, drove a good distance to acquire some used equipment for their company. This Cat 320E excavator was one of the several pieces they considered.

Ruly Holguin of Ruly’s Mobile Welding, drove from West Texas to look for pieces of used equipment for his business. Holguin inspected this Genie telescopic forklift before bidding started.

Lino Leon drove from Los Angeles to help his uncle purchase some machinery for their used equipment business, North & South America Heavy Equipment Sales. Leon vigorously tested this Cat hydraulic excavator before adding it to his short list.

Evette Aviles (L) and Jesus Cavallevo, owners of Liquidators LV of Las Vegas, attended their first equipment auction. They were in need of a trailer to help with transportation and were excited to place their first bid on this Best Trail tagalong trailer.

Hector Ramos (L) and Luiz Labastida of CKB Construction of Baha, Mexico, drove overnight to attend their first auction. They were looking for low-hour heavy equipment for their growing business. This Cat motor grader was one of the first pieces of equipment up for consideration.
