The flags and cranes filled a beautiful weekend sky as one drove down I-75 in Cincinnati. The reason for the huge display of Patriotism was AmQuip’s celebration of the grand opening of its newest facility.

Joseph L. Wesley, owner and founder of Amquip, and his wife of 52 years, Marion, welcomed more than 400 guests on June 18 at its Laidlaw Avenue location.

The event offered something for everyone in the family –– country music performed live by “Full Bore,” children’s face painting, inflatable rides for the kids, caricatures for everyone, golf cart tours, balloons, gift bags, the Cincinnati Bengals’ cheerleaders and even a crane training simulator from Manitowoc Cranes for everyone to test their skills.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by the Wesleys with the assistance of Chris Smith, regional representative of Gov. Taft, and Bernadette Watson, Cincinnati Mayor Charlie Luken’s chief of staff.

After the ribbon cutting, Smith gave a speech praising AmQuip for converting the location from the “eyesore” that it once was into one of the most beautiful facilities on I-75. He also thanked the Wesleys and AmQuip for bringing new jobs and futures to the Ohio Valley.

When Smith concluded his presentation, Frank Bardonaro Jr., general manager of AmQuip, turned the microphone over to Watson, who presented a “proclamation” from the Mayor that honored the Wesley family and AmQuip. She then recognized AmQuip as a leader in bringing jobs, beautification, and first class crane rental equipment and operators to the Greater Cincinnati area.

In addition to both the Mayor and governor’s office, AmQuip was honored by the presence of Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis and Hamilton County Police Chief Sean Donovan.

All of the law enforcement officials were impressed by the facility and pleased to see the area being improved by AmQuip and its presence.
