 Wade Wilder, Georgetown County, maneuvers the pin to set in the top of the traffic cone during the “pin drop” competition. Tom Nophsker, town of Surfside, knocked all four tennis balls into the bucket on his first attempt, and secured a third place finish. The 2017, 33rd annual APWA Summer Conference — South Carolina state backhoe rodeo was held on July 11 in Charleston, S.C.

In the Upstate, Pee Dee, Lowcountry and Midlands areas of South Carolina, four regional competitions were held, and the top two finishers were invited to the state championships. Company Wrench, the JCB dealer of North and South Carolina, provided the JCB backhoe for the event.
