Barlow Strategic Sales & Marketing recently announced Doug Amerman as vice president of the Fort Wayne, Ind.-based sales development, research and marketing firm specializing in the North American and global construction and related equipment industries.

Amerman brings with him extensive experience within the construction, agricultural, industrial, landscape, snow removal, government and aviation markets, most notably serving the Sweepster and Paladin Attachments brands for more than 35 years in several levels of sales and marketing management positions.

Joining Sweepster in 1977 with only 30 employees and a revenue of just $2 million, Amerman worked with the company through years of solid growth and mergers and acquisitions in a variety of roles for Sweepster and Paladin Attachments (now more than 1,000 employees) before leaving the company to join Barlow. Amerman will work closely with Barlow clients to provide the added expertise and peoplepower to help guide them to the successful growth solutions.

“We are very excited to have Doug join our team,” said Strategic Sales & Marketing President/CEO Brian Barlow. “His extensive experience within the construction equipment markets we serve and his international experience will add further depth to our knowledge, capabilities and global initiatives and help us better serve the companies we work with.”

Since 1991, Barlow Strategic Sales & Marketing has worked with more than 80 manufacturers, associations and technology companies, providing a powerful blend of expertise and integrated services, according to the company.

It actively supports several industry associations, including the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM); the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA); and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The company employs its unique group of seven sales development, marketing and research-related services simultaneously in any combination to deliver complete solutions for maximum results.

“I joined Barlow for the opportunity to put my extensive experience to work,” said Amerman. “Sharing my experience with a wide-range of companies facing sales-related strategic and tactical issues and opportunities has always been one of my personal goals, and Barlow’s unique philosophy of interconnectivity through its combination of services will help me achieve this goal.”
