The nightmare of business owners is a lawsuit that could have been avoided and the dread of an owner/operator is to be off work due to an injury. No one wins in these situations. Often limiting one’s exposure to to a lawsuit is as simple as a little research.

BWS, a trailer manufacturer, has designed a line of EZ-2-Load tag-a-long trailers that could give construction business owners/operators peace of mind.

BWS Manufacturing has been building trailers since 1967 and tag trailers since 1982. In the mid-80s, BWS started to design a tag trailer that would eliminate most of the liability risks associated with loading heavy equipment on tag-style trailers.

The tilt-deck offers a very shallow load angle while allowing the operator to maintain visual contact with the trailer deck at all times.

It eliminated dangerous sharp loading angles, hazardous pivot point as the equipment reached the top of the ramps, and unnecessary damage to tracked equipment or the trailer from the violent landing on the deck after crossing the pivot point.

In the mid-90s, BWS designed a ramp that requires no effort on the part of the user. The Air Ramp tag offers a knife-edge ramp, six-degree load angle for easy loading of rollers and pavers. An important feature is that the ramps can be raised and lowered with the flick of the wrist.

The ramps are fully air operated. There is no need of hydraulics with the added weight, costs and environmental concerns. Nothing but the air supply that is already running from the truck to the trailer is needed. The system is effective but it had not been widely marketed before.

Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel Inc. viewed the technology and realized the BWS trailers could serve its customers. For the past two years, Hale has been marketing the line, which offers several models at competitive prices.
