Prosecutors say a Long Island contractor and his daughter are charged with stealing more than $700,000 by defrauding 11 subcontractors and a client.

NEW YORK (AP) - Prosecutors say a Long Island contractor and his daughter are charged with stealing more than $700,000 by defrauding 11 subcontractors and a client.

Anthony Rotondaro, of Babylon, and his daughter Jamie were indicted along with the father's companies, Reniss Contracting and Janic Construction Corp.

They face multiple counts of grand larceny charges.

The district attorney's office says the Manhattan-based companies served as general contractors for New York City construction projects.

Prosecutors say a lot of money disappeared and that no one seems to know where it went.

The Glen Cove woman and the two companies are also charged with fraud.

The Rotondaros were represented by public defenders and pleaded not guilty in Manhattan Wednesday.

Records show the daughter has been released on bail. The father remains jailed.
