Driven by a demand for a more economical tool for processing concrete, both as part of the demolition process and when debris needs further downsizing, Genesis Attachments has introduced the Genesis Demolition Recycler (GDR).

Designed for third-member use on machines in the 45,000 lb. (20,411 kg) class and larger, the GDR delivers 115 tons (104 t) of crushing force at the tip, a 32-in. (81 cm) jaw depth, a jaw opening of 35 in. (89 cm), and a quick 5.5 second (@ 66 gpm) cycle time. Genesis officials said this is the largest jaw it has ever offered on a tool that mounts on a 20-ton (18 t) class machine, and emphasize that the GDR delivers all that power without the use of an intensifier.

Perhaps the most valuable feature of the GDR, however, is its ability to be custom-configured according to the end-user’s specific needs, said Dan Raihala, Genesis’ design engineer.

“This tool can be custom-configured to meet customers’ needs: from as few as five pulverizing teeth and 16-inch blades, to as many as 19 pulverizing teeth and a 4-inch cutting blade. With this versatility, we feel the GDR can excel at high-reach demolition projects, crushing concrete, then cutting any pipe, rebar or medium-gauge steel encountered. With a tooth-heavy configuration, however, it can be equally effective downsizing oversized debris in a concrete recycling application.”
