Stephenson Equipment Inc. (SEI) recently welcomed more than 500 public works, township and municipal employees and officials from communities surrounding its Harrisburg, Lancaster and Philadelphia, Pa., locations to a large equipment show and extravaganza at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.
The event featured many of the equipment lines offered by SEI, along with demonstrations and information sessions highlighting the equipment, features and technologies public works professionals rely on in their day-to-day operations.
With great weather throughout the event, attendees had plenty of time to explore the extensive equipment displays and learn about the features and benefits of SEI's product lines. They also had the opportunity to meet with representatives from SEI's product support, rental, parts and service departments.
A major attraction was the wide variety of truck upfits on display from communities throughout the region. Representatives from neighboring municipalities were able to see how other public works departments configure their trucks for everyday operations, as well as for winter snow and ice management. Attendees also had the opportunity to speak directly with SEI and equipment manufacturer representatives about the different options available for their own fleets.
Several new innovations from JCB attracted significant attention at the show.
The first was the JCB 3CX-14 PRO backhoe with dual drive, which allows operators to drive the backhoe while working from the rear dipper controls. This provides greater versatility and efficiency when moving the machine around a job site.
Also drawing attention was the JCB Pothole PRO, an all-in-one machine designed specifically for pothole repair. The versatile unit also can be configured for a variety of other applications, including roadside boom mowing and excavation.
Another JCB highlight was the new 4TS Teleskid, featuring industry-leading reach along with a safe side-door entry that provides operators with convenient and secure access to the machine, according to the company.
Diamond Mowers also showcased its new DM 360 mowing unit, offering municipalities a unique boom-mowing solution designed to provide versatility for a wide range of roadside and vegetation-management applications.
Stephenson Equipment expressed its gratitude to everyone who attended the event, as well as the many manufacturers and industry partners who helped make the show possible.
SEI holds this event biennially for professionals involved in the public works industry.
In 2027, Stephenson Equipment will celebrate 70 years in business.
