E. A. Martin Company has announced that E. A. Martin Machinery Co., a wholly-owned division, has agreed in principle to sell its Missouri Caterpillar dealer operations to John Fabick Tractor Company of Fenton, MO.

The Missouri territory includes 24 counties with branch locations in Springfield, Joplin and West Plains.

Simultaneously, E. A. Martin Machinery Co. has agreed in principle to sell its northwest Arkansas Caterpillar dealer operations to J. A. Riggs Tractor Company of Little Rock, AR. The Arkansas territory includes nine counties with branch locations in Springdale and Harrison.

E. A. Martin Machinery Co. has served southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas since 1915.

“I am confident that the new ownership will continue our 86-years of commitment to high-quality products and services, and to the customers and employees who contributed to our success,” Donald G. Martin Sr., chairman of E.A. Martin.

After the transaction, expected to close March 1, 2002, E. A. Martin Company will continue to pursue its other business interests. CEG
