Florida Contractor Rentals has opened its fifth office in Cocoa, Fla.

Located at 347 Williams Point Boulevard, the facility’s 2,500-sq.-ft. includes offices, and departments for rental, parts and service.

It sits on 2.5 acres, which allows for plenty of room to store equipment.

Branch Manager Tracy Funge leads the team, which also includes Pat Davis and Mike Degel, sales representatives; Tom Asbury, counter man; plus a lowboy driver and a couple of service technicians.

The newest branch, in addition to a full line of rental equipment, also sells and services the Gehl line of skid steers, track loaders and mini excavators; Genie personnel lifts; and SnorkelLifts. Its earthmoving equipment includes late model loaders, dozers, backhoe loaders and excavators, primarily from Case.

In addition to having the five locations the company also has “lots of construction equipment industry experience in our people,” according to Cliff Sheffield, president and founder of the company.

“We have a staff of employees with a lot of experience. Some of the advantages we have over the franchise operations is our independence and our personal relationships. When our customers have a question, we can make a decision and give them an answer quickly without going up and down the corporate ladder and they will be dealing with people they know. We don’t have the turnover of the franchise operations, so we can have personal relationships with our customers.”

Florida Contractor Rentals also has branches in St. Augustine, Palatka, Daytona Beach and Jacksonville. The corporate headquarters is located in Bunnell.
