Jeff Merle, vice president, machine sales of Foley Incorporated, announced the appointments of Glenn Bouthillette as customer support manager of the construction division, Tom Alfano as heavy account manager for Hunterdon and Somerset counties, and Bill Connolly as general line sales manager in the construction division.

Bouthillette came to Foley in 1996, bringing with him twelve years of experience in the power generation industry. He began his career at Foley as the rental manager in the engine division, where he worked for nine years before accepting the position as sales manager for the Foley Rents Division in 2006.

During his time as sales manager, Bouthillette led his sales team in effectively raising customer awareness of Foley Rents’ complete line of Cat and non-Cat rental equipment.

As the customer support manager of the construction division, Bouthillette will be responsible for growing the business in parts and service.

“Glenn has been an integral part of the success and the growth in Foley Rents and we expect him to bring the same drive and competitiveness with him to product support sales,” said Merle.

Alfano arrived at Foley in 2000 with an extensive sales background in the Compact Construction Equipment industry (CCE). In 1999, he was one of the top 100 salesmen in North America within this product line. Alfano started off at Foley as a CCE salesman, but was quickly promoted to general line sales manager during his first year. He successfully managed the efforts of the general line sales force from the field, while still having sales coverage responsibility for selected accounts.

In Alfano’s new position as heavy account manager, he will meet extensively with customers to ensure that their needs are responded to quickly and effectively.

“Tom’s strong work ethic and knowledge of the business should serve him well in his new responsibilities. We are very excited to get someone of his caliber out into the field with our customers full time and look forward to his anticipated success,” said Merle.

Connolly has an established background in the industry with 29 years of various management and sales experience. He held positions as general parts manager, general services manager — lift division, and service operations manager of power systems at Ring Power.

In 2000 Connolly began his career at Foley as the machinery service manager before becoming general service manager and thereafter the customer support sales manager. During this time he has demonstrated exceptional managerial techniques in influencing successful high performing teams and producing outstanding results, according to the company.

Connolly will be fully responsible for the entire general line machine sales team.

“We are confident that he will bring the same passion and dedication to excellence that he has demonstrated in product support to help us drive great machine sales results,” Merle said.
