On Sept. 26, 2026, more than 1,600 attendees came out for the inaugural Kids Building MN event in Bloomington, Minn.

The event was created to give children a chance to learn more about careers in construction. With the help of sponsors, volunteers and exhibitors, the event did just that, giving kids a hands-on look at the industry and the many opportunities it has to offer.

With activities happening throughout the event, kids had plenty of opportunities to build, explore, ride, create and even get their hands dirty. It was a chance to see that the construction industry is about more than just equipment. There are people, skills and careers behind the work, and Kids Building MN gave the next generation a chance to start exploring those possibilities. The excitement was easy to see as they moved from one experience to the next, with plenty of questions and “Wow” moments along the way.

At the Lano tent, attendees could try their luck at a Plinko board, where everyone had a chance to win a prize, or challenge a friend to a game of giant Connect 4. Lano also brought two pieces of wrapped equipment — a Bobcat T66-2 compact track loader and a Bandit HM6420 mulcher — which quickly caught the attention of attendees.

The games gave families a reason to stop by, have some fun and check out the equipment up close, while the machines offered a firsthand look at the kind of equipment used in the construction and land-clearing industries.

Lano was proud to sponsor the first Kids Building MN and be part of an event focused on getting kids interested in construction. From the equipment in the Lano display to the games and prizes at its tent, it was a great day to connect with the next generation and introduce them to an industry that is always building something new.
