The Great Lakes Timber Professionals held its 70th annual Great Lakes Logging & Heavy Equipment Expo Sept. 10 to 12 at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba, Mich. Industry professionals converged on the site for multiple events and demonstrations including the kickoff event — Miracle of Life Building on Fairgrounds.

Days two and three featured contests and demonstrations from event sponsors, including Roland Machinery Company, Fabick CAT and Nortrax. Roland Machinery sponsored the Forwarder Operator Competition. The Roland Machinery display, 1st-In-The-Forrest, garnered attention from attendees due to the Komatsu XT-3 Series including the 931 harvester with the C144 harvesting head. This Tier IV Final harvester boasts an H-series parallel crane and 68 percent higher hydraulic working flow for increased productivity.

Attendees also stopped by the Fabick CAT display. Caterpillar was a sponsor the Log Load for Kids and Fabick CAT was a major sponsor as well as a co-sponsor of the president’s dinner. Fabick CAT recently announced the merger of Fabick and FABCO Equipment Inc., and the show gave Fabick the opportunity to tell customers how they would benefit from this new partnership. In addition, guests of the show had the chance to stop by the John Deere and Nortrax tent to have their photo taken with L&M Series equipment. The series offers strong and productive forestry equipment.

Nortrax was the social media sponsor for the event.
