Hedberg’s 18th Annual Contractor Education Day is set for March 7 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minn.

The event combines a 45-booth trade show with a variety of educational seminars offered throughout the day.

“We are happy to announce Greg Wittstock, Founder of Aquascape Inc., will be one of our main speakers that day,” said Steve Hedberg, president of Hedberg Aggregates Inc. “His seminar — ’How to Sell 1 Million Dollars in Ponds’ is well regarded in the landscape industry. Greg’s ideas can also be useful to non-pond landscapers and masonry people, too.”

Additionally, Terry Morrill, CEO of Pacific Outdoor Living in La Crescenta, Calif. will be a first-time speaker at the annual Education Day event.

“Terry will speak on ’Contractor Break Even Analysis’ — using examples from his multi-million dollar water gardening and paving stone installation business which consists of 9 paver crews, 1 pond crew and 3 demolition crews. Our attendees should get plenty of ideas on how to market themselves in 2008,” Hedberg said.

Other seminars being offered include “Motivating Employees Using Common Sense,” “Permeable Pavers — Installation Rules, Regulations & How to,” “Latest Trends in Outdoor Fire Rock Installation,” “Advanced Hints & Installation Techniques Using Multiple Sizes of Segmental Retaining Walls,” “Rules of the Road” and much more.

Besides educational seminars, there is a networking area where different types of contractors can meet and exchange business cards for possible sub-contractor work in the future.

The winners of the 8th Annual Hedberg Landscape & Masonry Awards Contest will be announced and winners of the Hedberg Hauler Program will be revealed.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at any Hedberg location.
