Holt CAT Opens Doors to New Parts Store in Sonora

- West Edition

Holt CAT, one of the largest Caterpillar dealers in the United States, announced that its newest facility — a CAT parts store — is open for business in Sonora. The new store is located at 707 Glasscock.

“We are excited to be in Sonora,” said Tom Kaminski, general parts manager of the Holt CAT Power Systems Division. “This area of West Texas is one of the primary oil and gas production regions in the state, and Holt is ready to provide the parts support needed here.”

The Sonora store will carry a comprehensive inventory of parts for Caterpillar industrial and petroleum engines as well as parts for Cat off-highway machines and a selection of Cat truck engine parts. The store will also have the capability for making custom hydraulic hoses.

“While we will stock a large variety of parts, those that we do not have on the shelf can usually be available within 24 hours from our main warehouse in San Antonio,” Kaminski said.

Holt CAT runs a daily parts delivery shuttle to Sonora from San Antonio. Customers can order parts from the Sonora store and pick them up at the in-store parts counter or order online from the Holt CAT Web site at and have the parts delivered to the store.

The store will initially employ two parts counter associates under the leadership of Christopher Berry. Field service for repair and maintenance for Cat equipment also is available.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the invention of the first practical track-type tractor, named the “Caterpillar,” by Benjamin Holt, great-grandfather of Peter M. Holt, CEO of Holt CAT.

The company sells and services Caterpillar machines and engines in a 118-county Texas territory spanning from the Red River to the Rio Grande.

Holt CAT offers total machine rebuild capabilities and sells used equipment around the world.
