Howell Tractor recently reached a rare milestone: the company has achieved seven years and 698,000 hours without a single lost-time accident. In celebration of this feat, Howell Tractor treated the team to a catered luncheon and breakfast on March 14 in Hazel Crest, Ill.
"Gary and his crew do an excellent job with safety while continuing to remain productive and providing the cost effect solutions our customers demand with a sense of urgency that is next to none. Please join me in congratulating them on this difficult to achieve milestone," said General Manager Tom Ellis during the celebration.
"At Howell, the most important assets are our employees. Achieving seven years — 698,000 hours — without a lost time accident is a rare feat in this industry that I credit to the tremendous crew that continues to work efficiently, intelligently and most of all carefully," said Gary Hammond, general service manager. "Continuous education and improvements on safety equipment ensure our employees remain safe in the shop and out in the field. I look forward to continuing this commitment to safe work habits and will let you know when we hit that 1 million hour mark."
