Iowa Mold Tooling Co. Inc.’s (IMT) SiteStar lube trucks now include radio remote control capabilities. This brings the option of radio remotes to service technicians doing preventative maintenance in the field.
The new radio remotes can activate/deactivate the oil pumping system, start or stop the chassis, or control the engine throttle. These remotes increase productivity by decreasing the amount of time the service technician spends walking back and forth between the truck and the equipment. The remote also can save fuel by allowing the operator to throttle back on the engine or turn the chassis off when doing other equipment maintenance.
Air-operated systems — grease, antifreeze and salvage — are not included in the remote’s functions at this time but are planned for the future.
