MADISON, S.D. (AP) Madison area employers will get $1,500 for every former Rosco Manufacturing worker they hire.

About 100 people will be without a job when the Rosco operations are moved to North Carolina in a consolidation with its parent company. Rosco makes road construction equipment.

The hiring incentive is available through a combination of $50,000 from Madison’s Lake Area Improvement Corporation and a $100,000 Workforce Grant from the state Department of Tourism and State Development

Companies that hire displaced Rosco employees will get $1,500 for every full-time employee who has a starting wage of at least $8.50 per hour. The package is retroactive to May 28 when the plant closing was announced.
