Vermeer Corporation announced Sept. 18, its acquisition of the remaining non-Vermeer interests of McLaughlin Group, Inc., a leader in the drill tooling and vacuum excavation industry. Vermeer took an initial vested position in McLaughlin in 2012, when it acquired a minority interest in the Greenville, S.C.

This fall McLaughlin will introduce the next generation of its most popular vacuum excavator with an update that includes a no-hassle hose design that will help save crews time and energy, according to the company. The VX50 Gen 3 vacuum excavator features a hose that can hang on the side of the machine as potholing crews move from hole to hole.

The board of directors of McLaughlin Manufacturing Company, Greenville, SC, has appointed Dave Gasmovic, president and chief operating officer, according to a recent announcement by Paul Barker, chairman. Gasmovic joined McLaughlin in 1979 as regional sales manager at the company’s facility in Plainfield, IL, and later transferred to its plant in Arlington, TX, where he managed all sales activities in the Southwestern states.
