Pettibone, long-time manufacturer of the Speed Swing rail maintenance crane, has announced a partnership with Mecalac to provide sales and service support in North America for the Mecalac 8MCR Rail-Road, a compact crawler excavator that is purpose built with factory-installed hi-rails for railway maintenance and service work.

Lorusso Heavy Equipment held a hands-on demo day Dec. 1, 2018, near its facility in Walpole, Mass. The event spotlighted the Mecalac 8-MCR earthmover equipped with an Engcon tilt rotating system. In addition, other models of the Engcon product line were available for a test drive along with various models of Hyundai excavators and wheel loaders.

Geographical expansion remains one of the main policy priorities of the Mecalac Group. For more than four decades, through its five factories, its seven commercial subsidiaries and a global network of more than 250 dealerships, the Group has been designing, manufacturing and selling construction machines specifically intended for civil and underground engineering in urban environments.

Versatility is a valuable commodity in the construction business. Just like a football player who can run and pass from scrimmage, is a reliable pass-receiver and can return kicks, a machine that can handle multiple tasks on a job site is highly-prized.

The Mecalac Group, specialists in design, manufacture and distribution of construction equipment and based in Annecy, Haute-Savoie (France), will take over production of a range of compact wheel loaders, currently being manufactured by the French company Pichon, starting on Jan.

Three companies, all part of the same family of dealers, recently became Mecalac dealers for the Midwest. Trenchers Plus, L.F. George and Midwest Underground will carry the Mecalac line of equipment at all of their locations. L.F. George Inc. is part of a family enterprise that additionally includes Bobcat Plus Inc.

Export development is one of the priorities for the French Mecalac Group, which has been designing, manufacturing and selling machines dedicated to urban construction sites for more than 40 years. With this as a focus, on May 16 and 17 Mecalac welcomed its dealers from the Americas: Canada, USA, Mexico, Colombia and Chile to its premises in Annecy-le-Vieux.

Held on the home turf of Mecalac in France, Intermat 2018 drew hundreds of thousands of attendees from around the world to Paris. But just because this show was in Mecalac's home country of France does not negate the fact that Mecalac is moving quickly with is globalization strategy to have its machines available worldwide.

Lorusso Heavy Equipment LLC of Walpole, Mass., recently held a hands-on demonstration of Mecalac equipment for local contractors in New England. The demonstration showcased the Mecalac 6MCR and 8MCR crawler excavator/track loaders, 9MWR and15MWR rubber-tire excavators and the AS700 swing loader.

Mecalac recently announced the addition of Reynolds-Warren Equipment Company, based in Forest Park, Ga., as its newest full-service distributor. Reynolds-Warren will cover the entire state of Georgia, as well as the border areas of the state, including north Florida, east Alabama, western South Carolina and southern Tennessee, until dealers are selected to represent these states.

Earlier this year, France-based manufacturer Mecalac held a dealer meeting and press event to introduce to its more than 200 dealers worldwide the new MRW (MWR) series compact wheeled excavator. The press conference and dealer introduction was held at the Arcadium concert and meeting hall facility in Annecy, France.
