Petrowsky Auctioneers, a Ritchie Bros. Company, conducted its annual spring auction at 700 Hart Road in Columbus, Ohio, on May 25. The equipment up for bid, including mixer trucks, wheel loaders, concrete pump trucks, pavers, skid steer loader and trucks came primarily from the Shelly Company.

Anticipation was in the air on Aug. 5 and 6 when Petrowsky Auctioneers held its first public auction under the ownership of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. Attendees had already gotten wind that something big had happened, and Sam Petrowsky started the sale by making the announcement that his company, Petrowsky Auctioneers, was now under the ownership of Ritchie Bros.

Ritchie Bros., the world's largest industrial auctioneer and a leading equipment distributor, announced that it has acquired the business of Petrowsky Auctioneers, significantly enhancing its market presence in the New England region. Petrowsky Auctioneers conducted a major heavy equipment and truck auction on May 19 in Columbus, Ohio. The majority of equipment, including earth moving, site development, paving equipment, trucks and trailers came from four divisions of the Shelly Company with equipment from other area contractors and equipment dealers as well.

Petrowsky Auctioneers hosted a three-day major-equipment auction from April 7 to 9 in North Franklin, Conn. The sale featured equipment from American Industries, Tilcon CT, Pine Bush Equipment, SLT Equipment Corp. and other area contractors and equipment dealers and included a wide range of medium and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, earthmoving and paving equipment, as well as agriculture, landscaping, and site development equipment.

Alex Lyon & Son Sale Managers & Auctioneers Inc. Alex Lyon & Son was founded in 1950 by Alex Lyon as a company that handled private treaty negotiations of cattle and farm machinery. In 1973, Alex's son Jack became more involved and began to diversify, working heavy equipment sales into the lineup of services.

Petrowsky Auctioneers held a two-day major public equipment and truck auction held on Dec. 11 and 12 at its facility in North Franklin, Conn. The Dec. 11 auction included excavation, construction, compaction, paving, and crushing and screening equipment from Princess Equipment, NY Asphalt, Circle Line Carting and other area contractors.

Petrowsky Auctioneers Inc. held a successful two-day auction of every type of heavy iron equipment, including several dozen of the largest excavators used in the industry. Buyers from dozens of states, along with national and international customers, bid in person and online on nearly 1,500 lots of equipment, including trucks, plows, tires, excavators, compactors, pavers, crushers and screening machines.
