There are multiple types of shredders, but all essentially perform the same action: taking a large item and tearing it into smaller pieces. In the forestry field, shredders can be used to remove stumps from a property. For example, John Deere’s SS30 model stump shredder removes stumps from 8 to 28 in. in one pass and is considered a faster process than using conventional grinders.
