JCB has introduced a new demolition application package available across its entire range of 18 skid steer and compact track loader models. This new specialty package was designed to equip JCB skid steers with the additional durability and safety features required to meet the increasingly rigorous demands of the demolition industry.

The new demolition package is available on any new JCB skid steer or compact track loader model and is factory-installed during manufacturing of the selected unit. It includes a fire extinguisher, Level 2 FOPS guard, a twine cutter (wheeled models only), front screen guard and heavy-duty rear bars. Canopy models require the front impact protection option to accommodate the new demolition package.

Pressurized JCB cab model SSLs and CTLs reduce dust and debris exposure to harmful airborne materials. Additional operator safety is built in with JCB's “PowerBoom” design, which boasts a single arm rather than the conventional two-arm skid steer design. This enables the use of a left-side entry door, allowing the operator to enter and exit the machine clear of the attachment and loader arm regardless of arm position. There also is a large front emergency exit, which could prove crucial in potentially hazardous applications.

Additionally, the JCB PowerBoom results in enhanced visibility at 270 degrees, a 60 percent advantage over other manufacturers, delivering clear visibility of the operator's surroundings. A large rear service door allows for easy access to the engine and daily maintenance checkpoints. Machine protection is enhanced by the routing of hydraulic hoses through the boom to prevent damage from impact in confined spaces on site.

JCB's line of skid steer and compact track loaders range from 6,153 to 11,596 lb. (2,791 to 5,260 kg) operating weights and are powered by 48 to 74 hp no-DPF JCB Diesel Tier IV Final engines. JCB custom builds each unit to the customer's exact specifications. Customers can choose from radial or vertical lift, wheeled or tracked, cab or canopy and a variety of other options.
