JCB Helps Small Company ’Get the Job Done’ in Big Apple

Construction Equipment Guide

In 1995, Francis Cullinan left his home in County Clare, Ireland, and headed across the Atlantic to build another life in New York City. His dream came true six years later when he opened his own business, Monmore Contracting Corporation, in 2001. The company focuses on excavating, demolition and rock breaking throughout the city’s five boroughs.

Due to sound business principles and the help of his newest machine — the JZ140 excavator by JCB — Monmore Contracting Corporation’s success is turning heads.

Cullinan has built his business on competitive pricing, reliability, and equipment manufactured by JCB that helps him get the job done consistently and efficiently. The presence of the JZ140 also is effective in generating business.

Since Cullinan does not advertise and attracts business by word-of-mouth, the buzz that is created with the presence of the JZ140 helps raise visibility in the community that is essential to his company’s success.

“The streets are so tight downtown, people stop to look at the JZ140, as it is so much more powerful than the seven-ton machine it replaced, yet not much bigger,” said Cullinan.

“It’s a fast machine that does everything I want,” added Cullinan. “It performs well in the heat of the summer and equally well in winter … it’s the best I have ever had.”
