The Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio (NGLCO) expanded its Field Days to two days for the 52nd annual running of the event. The first day, held on August 12, featured tours of local nurseries in Ohio's Lake County region and culminated in a casino night hosted at the new Madison, Ohio, Holiday Inn Express. The second day was held at the Chalet Debonne Vineyards in Madison, Ohio. Situated in Ohio's Grand River Valley wine region, with more than 175 acres of vines, Chalet Debonne Vineyards is the state's largest estate winery.
The Field Days events are held as a way to keep association members informed about the latest developments and innovations in the nursery industry, while encouraging networking opportunities and the exchange of ideas among event attendees. The trade show portion of the event featured equipment dealers and industry suppliers presenting a wide range of equipment, products and services geared toward Ohio's dynamic nursery and landscape industry.
Ohio's Lake County is noted as a major nursery region with over 100 licensed nurseries encompassing more than 5,000 acres of nursery stock. NGLCO's membership includes nurseries ranging in size from less than an acre to over 900 acres, employing a combined total of nearly 3,000 full- and part-time employees. The association has been serving the educational needs and promoting the success of nursery growers in the fertile Lake County, Ohio, region since 1927.
