September 20, 2011 - National Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

The Liebherr R900 C excavator is powered by a Liebherr D 934 S diesel engine according to level IIIA / Tier III rated at 129 hp (96 kW) 4 cylinder in-line. Due to its size and power, this excavator is suited for hilly terrain, inner-city areas or applications where space is limited.

Its design offers increased digging and loading performance, according to the manufacturer.

Depending on the working tool or quick coupler installed, the operating weight of the machine lies between 44,100 to 47,600 lb. (20,000 to 21,591 kg). The standard build machine is available with a gooseneck boom 16 ft. 5 in. (5 m) and a 10 ft. (3 m) stick. Its undercarriage is fitted with a large track frame of 7 ft. 5 in. (2.3 m) as well as B60L components, and triple grouser track pads (sealed/ lubricated).

In addition, the R 900 can be used in multiple applications when equipped with the Liebherr quick coupler system “Likufix.” This allows swapping hydraulic and mechanical attachments within seconds from the driver’s cab — connecting both the attachment and hydraulics — all from the cab, according to the manufacturer.
