Construction Equipment Guide

The Barletta Corp.’s 14010 Mantis crane has been an MVP on the field so far for the New York Yankees stadium project in the Bronx.

The crane, which is now on lease to Interstate Industrial Corp. of Clifton, N.J., has been hard at work in both the outfield and infield for foundation work, which has included driving piles, picking and carrying heavy steel beams, unloading steel and re-rodding, among other tasks.

The Barletta Corp., which is based in Canton, Mass., purchased the Mantis from Empire Crane Company, of Syracuse, N.Y. A new 100-ton (91 t) Mantis crane is slated for release in late 2007.
