Minnich Manufacturing, manufacturer of concrete paving vibrators and vibrator monitoring systems, and dowel pin drills recently relocated to a new facility in Mansfield, Ohio. According to Minnich’s Todd Jurjevic, the move was driven largely by company growth and increasing production demand.

Founded in 1968 by Roger Minnich, the company began operations in a converted gas station in downtown Mansfield, Ohio, where it remained until the move.

As the company grew, it expanded the original facility five times until, at 29,000 sq. ft., further expansion was not possible.

Minnich Manufacturing’s new facility sits on 17 acres of land, with ample space for future expansion. The company conducted a complete renovation of the existing structure at the site and at 45,000 sq. ft. is 55 percent larger than its old facility. According to Jurjevic, because of the way the company was forced to add to its old building, the company found work flow was often restricted. The new building’s manufacturing floor features an open plan which allows for work stations to be set up for greater efficiency and higher productivity. Raw materials are received on the loading dock at one end of the building and move through each department before arriving back at the loading dock as a finished product ready for shipment. The company also took advantage of the move by including updates, upgrades and additions to its machine shop, painting booth and welding and fabrication department.

The company started renovations on the new facility in August 2011 and by March of this year completed the relocation process. The company staged the move department by department in a coordinated effort to ensure a smooth transition. This allowed continual manufacturing throughout the move and with no slow down or interruption in deliveries.

Located at 1444 State Route 42, in the outskirts of Mansfield, Minnich Manufacturing is situated within easy access to Route 30 and I-71.
