Doosan Infracore America Corp. recently named Gregware Equipment Company its western Michigan dealer.

Gregware’s main office is based in Cedar Rapids, MI, with a second office in Howell, MI.

The staff includes four full-time sales representatives, as well as office and parts and service personnel.

The 47-year-old company had been researching additional equipment lines to grow into other markets that will complement its existing business, which has become known for its underground and trenching equipment.

“They have well put-together machines,” said Sales Manager Don “Corky” Koopmans. “The welds look strong, the operator platforms are very comfortable.”

Koopmans was impressed by Doosan’s diverse capabilities, which range from ship building to nuclear power plant generators to construction equipment.

“A few of us just came back from South Korea and China to see Doosan’s main plant,” he said. “They are enormous. They have a lot of defense contracts because they make strong army tanks and personnel carriers. They’ve got the resources to make a difference in this market with their quality and availability of parts.”

He predicted that Doosan will be a major player in the United States and plans on being a part of that growth in Michigan.

Doosan’s construction equipment product line also impressed Koopmans, who believes compare favorably to any other manufacturer on the market.

Doosan joined Gregware’s stable of manufacturers that also includes Case Corp., Trencor Trenchers, American Auger and Rycom Instruments.
