Construction Equipment Guide

Designed to increase safety and reduce ground labor, the Morbark Beever M20R forestry is a practical option for those looking to enter the biomass-market with low startup costs. The Beever M20R forestry is an entry-level biomass chipper for reclaiming forestry slash and harvesting tops. With a 28-in. (71 cm) wide infeed opening and engine options between 330 and 400 hp (246 and 298 kW), the Beever M20R forestry is a hard-working, aggressive machine, according to the manufacturer.

The frame of the Beever M20R forestry is built for enhanced strength with a 2 by 10 in. (5 by 25 cm) rectangular structural steel tubing mainframe. The front and rear hydraulic stabilizers provide stability at all points of the machine, and the rear drop legs reduce strain on the feed bed at the connecting point.

The Beever M20R forestry is designed with removable knife holders to reduce repair and maintenance costs. Wear strips reduce the wear on the knife holders and reduce the need to replace an entire holder assembly. Babbitt style knives maintain the chip consistency and reduce the need for anvil adjustment at knife changing time.

The feed yoke of the M20R forestry is located near the chipper bearings, reducing the amount of dead space behind the feed wheel. This reduces the opportunity for stalling on large diameter material, which makes this machine more productive and the owner more profitable, according to the manufacturer.

A chambered air impeller system with four fan blades increase airflow and improves chip discharge velocity and increases the ability to load all kinds of foliage. Chips follow a smoother, more gradual trajectory at a greater velocity because of the forestry discharge chute with AR-400 top. This makes it capable of packing maximum tonnage in semi trailer chip vans.

The 15-function wireless remote that comes standard on the M20R forestry allows control of hydraulic functions; throttle and engine kill, without requiring an operator in the immediate vicinity of the machine. The tether cord backup reduces the opportunity of any downtime if the remote is misplaced or the battery dies.
