This pair of Cat 980K wheel loaders were sold to a contractor in Argentina.

More than 1,550 bidders participated online and in person at Ritchie Bros.' multi-million dollar unreserved public equipment auction in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., on Sept. 22.

Bidders came from 42 countries, including 47 U.S. states. Approximately 73 percent of the equipment in the auction was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, and Turkey. Online bidders purchased approximately 62 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value).

Equipment highlights in the auction included more than 30 excavators, 20 skid steers, as well as loader backhoes, dozers, 60 truck tractors and more.
