The heavy-duty Terex Fuchs MHL360 D material handler offers above-ground lifting capacities in excess of 10,000 lbs. (4,535 kg) at a 50-ft. (15.2-m) outreach.
Featuring a 59-ft. (18 m) reach and a maximum hydraulic capacity of 169 gpm (640 Lpm) with load sensing and fuel-saving power demand system, the heavy-duty Terex Fuchs MHL360 D material handler offers above-ground lifting capacities in excess of 10,000 lbs. (4,535 kg) at a 50-ft. (15.2 m) outreach to improve productivity at the scrap yard. With a durable double-row slew ring design for smooth slewing and a wide undercarriage with large outrigger cylinders and robust stabilizer support beams, the MHL360 D delivers impressive lift capacities across its full operating range, so it can move more material and deliver efficient operating cycles, according to the manufacturer.
The refined MHL360 D with new reinforced cabin and control system enhances operator comfort, safety and productivity. Inside the rugged new cab with advanced sound insulation, operators work in comfort while sitting on an air-cushioned seat with lumbar support, armrests and headrest. A new, molded console surrounds the operator with heating/air conditioning vents, a cup holder and air conditioned lunch box. The cab’s spacious design with large windows affords added visibility of the surrounding work area.
The material handler’s large operator’s control panel features a high-resolution color display that is easily visible, even in full sunlight. Using a multi-function button with convenient thumb-tip menu navigation, operators can quickly switch operating functions and change machine settings. Critical operating conditions can be easily monitored with fuel and hydraulic oil levels, coolant and hydraulic oil temperatures, and operating hours available on the main screen. Additionally, the display alerts operators to machine service issues so that they can be addressed before becoming a major problem.
A 249 hp (186 kW) diesel engine with electronic engine management enables the hydraulic system and engine of the MHL360 D to efficiently work in unison for high production material handling and processing. The load sensing hydraulic system delivers smooth, precise handling and fast working cycles to maintain high profit potential. The operator cab is hydraulically height-adjustable up to 20 ft. (6.1 m) maximum eye level. Combining this heightened visibility with the machine’s impressive reach allows operators to stockpile material much higher and farther than with other equipment designs, so scrap operations can take in more material, according to the manufacturer.
Purpose-built for scrap handling applications, the MHL360 D is packed with features to deal with the harsh environment. Inverted hydraulic boom cylinder mounting offers protection from debris while separate hydraulic oil and engine cooling systems allow operation in ambient temperatures reaching 122F (50C). A rugged double slew ring design provides a long service life with little downtime. An integrated central lubrication system automatically greases multiple points on the upper carriage and slewing joint to reduce maintenance. The machine’s stow-away ladder offers quick access to the engine, central lubrication system and upper carriage service deck. Service technicians can quickly access the engine cooler and hydraulic oil cooler from ground level for quick inspection and maintenance.
