Ritchie Bros. announced the results of another large auction in Fort Worth, TX.
The two-day Ritchie Bros. auction, held on Dec. 9 and 10, 1999, generated gross auction sales exceeding $20 million.
One thousand seven hundred thirteen registered bidders attended the sale from across the United States and Canada, as well as from other counties including Belgium, Venezuela, Australia, Malaysia, and the Dominican Republic. Two thousand three hundred sixty-seven items were sold over the course of the sale.
“We had a great sale. There was a very large crowd and good weather,” said David Hobbs, regional manager for south central region for Ritchie Bros. “The prices were good and the bidding was brisk both days. We’ve had a strong year in Texas, and have held very successful auctions at our facilities in both Fort Worth and Houston.”
The equipment came from numerous consignors including Pat Canion Excavating; Omniquip Compact Technologies; United Rentals; Neff Rentals; Zachry Construction Corp.; a complete dispersal for Hoot Owl Express; Dynapac Division of Suedala Inc.; Martin K. Eby Construction Co. Inc.; and other owners.
Day one of the auction featured equipment including 58 truck tractors; 41 dump trucks; 91 personnel lifts; as well as telescopic personnel lifts, lowboys, and a large selection of flatbed and pickup trucks. Day two of the auction featured equipment including 44 crawler tractors; 27 motor graders; 65 loader backhoes; as well as wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, skid steer loaders, trenchers, compactors, and forklifts.
“There was a tremendous selection of equipment for the bidders to choose from,” said Hobbs. “We had 17 unused Dynapac compactors and rollers; two Cat 815F compactors; four unused Thomas skid steer loaders; 21 Skytrack, Traverselift, JCB and Cat telescopic forklifts; two Cat 623F motor scrapers; and a 1999 Kenworth T2000 T/A truck tractor. With the wide variety of heavy equipment, there was something for everyone at this sale.”
