The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Foundation (SC&RF) announced the launch of its career pathways resource, a dynamic platform designed to assist individuals as they explore careers in crane, rigging and specialized transportation industries.

As part of SC&RF's commitment to workforce development, the Career Pathways page provides a clear description of careers for individuals looking to enter or advance in these critical industries. Additional features to be added in 2025 will include common career pathways, videos and career opportunities. This is the only resource in the industry to reflect all areas of the SC&RA membership — crane, rigging and specialized transport.

There are 21 careers including:

• Crane Assembly/Disassembly Technician;

• Mobile Crane Operator;

• Heavy Haul Truck Driver;

• Crane Mechanic;

• Welder;

• Rigger;

• Signal Person;

• Project Manager;

• Safety Professional;

• And many more.

Each career page outlines:

• An explanation of what each career entails, responsibilities and the type of person who would be most likely to enjoy this career.

• Skills, interests and experience requirements for each role.

• Training, certification and education levels recommended to help individuals get started.

For example, the Crane Assembly/Disassembly technician profile highlights:

• Mechanical skills — Understanding crane mechanics, assembly and disassembly.

• Physical stamina — Ability to manage the demands of handling large machinery.

• Safety awareness — Adhering to strict safety protocols for a secure work environment.
