Open house visitors are ready to sit down and have lunch at Sheffer Rents’s new facility.

Sheffer Rents, an independently owned Volvo Rents store, held an open house at its York, Pa., location on June 23.

Visitors to the event had the opportunity to operate various pieces of equipment, speak with industry suppliers and register for door prizes. A barbeque lunch of pulled pork with all the fixings was provided by Pig Tails Barbeque, New Cumberland, Pa.

Guests also had the opportunity to see the Stars and Stripes mini-excavator, which is part of the “Color for a Cause” program.

The Color for a Cause program donates 20 percent of the machine’s rental revenue to Support Our American Recruits (SOAR), a military support organization that provides goods and services for service men and women and their families.

Sheffer Rents carries Volvo, JLG, Genie, MultiQuip, John Deere and Whiteman compact construction equipment and tools to industrial, commercial and homeowner customers. It also carries construction supplies.

Volvo Rents President and CEO Barry Natwick was on hand for the official ribbon cutting.
