Construction Equipment Guide

The Terex Pegson 1000 SR Maxtrak features the Automax “all-in feed” cone crusher with two-deck, 5 by 11 ft. (1.5 by 3.4 m) product-sizing screen; input conveyor/hopper; product conveyors and oversize return conveyor on a single chassis.

The unit can simultaneously produce two products plus oversize re-circulation, or three products using an optional third stockpiling conveyor.

The plant is engineered for high specification, flexibility and tonnage up to 240 tph, with great mobility and low operating costs.

No pre-screening is required. Dust suppression sprays, Miltronics level probe sensor to achieve choke feeding, and metal detector are standard.

The self-contained unit includes a variable-speed belt feeder with integral hopper that can be fed with full level control from a conveyor, bucket loader or excavator.

The entire feeder-hopper assembly can be hydraulically lowered into the feed ring for transport or raised for re-metaling.

The Automax cone crusher is available with medium coarse (standard), coarse, extra coarse or autosand concave with either long- (standard) or short-throw eccentric.

The crusher is designed to produce a more cubical product and can make road-base material in a single pass. The hydraulic system can be adjusted quickly and easily, even while crushing.

The unit has PLC direct readout/control of crusher setting, manganese wear, lubrication system, screen and on-plant conveyors. The powerpack is a 6-cylinder Cat C-9 with 345 hp at 1,800 rpm.

The Automax can use greater engine power and low friction loss.

The “all-in-feed” process with level control for choke feeding is designed to maximize throughput and production, optimize shape and minimize wear in secondary, tertiary and quaternary applications.

To maximize service life and product flow, minimize friction loss, eliminate “bowl bounce” and simplify maintenance, Automax crushers do not use plain bearings, bronze bushings or bronze bearing seat; there are no accumulators for tramp metal release, and no spider bearing above the cone head.

On-board conveyors include feed, product, fines, top deck side transfer, re-circulating, and optional bottom side transfer to optional stockpiler. The plant can be moved on level ground with all conveyors in operating position. The re-circulating conveyor also can be positioned as a stockpiling conveyor.

Platforms for inspection and maintenance allow ready access to the engine, crusher and feed conveyor. Umbilical and remote radio track controls are standard.
