OGDEN, Utah (AP) Officials at the Utah Department of Transportation said 2008 could be one of the busiest years in state history for road construction in several northern Utah counties.

About $1.2 billion worth of transportation growth projects in Davis, Weber, Morgan, Box Elder and Cache counties are expected to be finished by fall.

At the top of the list is the $685 million Legacy Parkway — the South Davis segment of the larger Legacy Highway project.

Construction on the 14-mi. (22.5 km), four-lane Legacy Parkway began in March 2006, with full construction starting earlier this year. The project is expected to be complete by fall and take traffic off of Interstate 15.
