MICHIGAN CITY, IN (January, 2015) – Product improvement has always been an important aspect in every product Vanair Manufacturing, Inc. has produced. The new Viper Gas rotary screw air compressor is no exception.

First introduced in 1993, the Viper Gas engine-driven air compressor has long been a powerful and dependable workhorse. With its new design and superior reliability, the Viper Gas compressor delivers 60-80 cfm at 100-150 psi. It has enough power to operate a 90 lb. jackhammer, as well as a 1 1/2 inch impact wrench. Its compact new design is 15 percent smaller than its predecessor and fits conveniently behind the cab of your vehicle, or can be mounted on the side-pack.

In addition, the Viper Gas provides the operator with the ability to turn off the truck while still being able to have access to big powerful air. This unit features a Tier 4 certified Kohler engine. Ralph Kokot, Vice President, Viper Division explains, "We are very excited about the redesign of the Viper Gas air compressor. The reduction in weight and price has given our dealers a real advantage in the marketplace. The size of the machine has really gotten smaller, especially the width (42Lx21Wx30H). The new air end will really enhance what has been a superior product for Vanair over the years."

Chris Szalajko, lead engineer and project manager adds, "The new design of the Viper Gas has really reduced the overall weight of this machine. This adds to a greater fuel savings that is so important to our customers. We’ve improved the cooling system by 20 percent, making it extremely robust in its ability to keep the machine working at maximum efficiency in extreme heat. With the addition of a temperature gauge and an electric starter, the Viper Gas belt driven package is designed to make the user’s life easier, while seamlessly lowering operating costs and simplifying maintenance tasks."
