Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc (Volvo CE Rents) in Asheville, NC, announced the signing of a franchise agreement for Volvo equipment rental centers in the Dallas, TX, metropolitan area.

Smithco Enterprises LLC, of McKinney, TX, has entered into a Volvo CE Rents franchise agreement to own and operate a Volvo CE Rents center in McKinney, a suburb of Dallas.

This is the second Volvo CE Rents franchise contract completed for the Texas market. In mid-June, contracts were announced for the establishment of Volvo CE Rents franchises in Houston.

John Smith, principal owner of Smithco Enterprises, was formerly with both Prime Equipment and Rental Service Corporation.

“The key to success in our market,” said Smith, “will be the industry experience and business strength of our management group, the ability to provide the very best in customer service and tools for a variety of applications, and the benefits provided by the Volvo name and that company’s very comprehensive rental model features.”

The new Smithco Volvo CE Rents will carry, in addition to Volvo construction equipment, a comprehensive line of equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets. Principal Volvo products for its rental centers include its line of compact excavators, wheel loaders, backhoes and skid steer loaders.

The Volvo CE Rents program, designed and developed by Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc., covers all aspects of an operation rental business model. Program features include use of the Volvo brand, financial assistance, a fleet purchasing program for non-Volvo products, a Volvo CE Rents software program, training, facility design and regional and local marketing.

Volvo CE Rents began its equipment rental franchise initiative in 2001. It has rental centers open in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, California, Tennessee, Ohio, South Carolina, Louisiana, New York, Minnesota, Arkansas, New Jersey, Alabama, Kentucky, Illinois, New Mexico, Washington and Pennsylvania.

Additional Volvo CE Rents centers will open within the next few months in three Mississippi markets. The company has franchise agreements signed with other North America business interests seeking independently owned and operated franchise opportunities in the equipment rental business.

Volvo CE Rents recently opened a new rental center in Madrid, Spain, the first of a planned 18 locations in Spain during the next three years.
