March 27, 2010 - Midwest Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

West Side Tractor Sales Co. held the first of three technology fairs on March 25 at its Rockdale, Ill., location. The fair is spotlighting “Engine Emissions — Interim Tier Four (iT4) Readiness,” to help customers prepare for the new emission standards that go into effect on Jan. 1, 2011.

Other topics included JD Link Telemetrics — Manage Your Fleet Without Leaving Your Seat; Integrated Grade Control — Crawler Dozer Machine Guidance System Power; and Digger Pro 2 — Excavator Guidance System ITR; and The Science of Undercarriage Replacement.

John Deere provided an excavator simulator to give operators a chance to show off their skills. The company also provided a 764 high-speed dozer, which West Side Tractor had on display at the front of the facility. A new concept in iron, the John Deere 764 is a merger of the crawler dozer and the motorgrader.

West Side Tractor has two more technology fairs on the calendar: April 8, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and April 15, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information and to RSVP, call 630/355-7150.
