The mid-size Cat 320F hydraulic excavator features a powerful and efficient C4.4 ACERT U.S. EPA Tier IV Final engine with a 161 hp (120 kW) rating and a hydraulic system capable of taking on a variety of tasks. Weighing in just under 50,000 lbs. (22,679 kg), the machine is sized just right for easy transport from job to job.

Performance

The 320F is miserly on fuel. Based on engineering validation, it will consume up to 8.5 percent less fuel than the 320E in standard mode while delivering the same lifting and digging capability. It also features advanced electronic, fuel, air, and aftertreatment components like a maintenance-free diesel particulate filter, and it has isochronous control that automatically manages pump and engine speed for improved fuel efficiency. Plus boom and stick recirculation valves reduce fuel consumption and speed up cycle times, according to the manufacturer.

Versatility

Cat buckets and work tools are designed and matched to maximize the 320F's performance. Auxiliary hydraulic circuits are available to support a variety of tools like hammers, grapples and thumbs. Available tool control and quick coupler speed up tool changes even more.

Comfort

The full-size roll-over protective structure (ROPS) cab is quiet and comfortable, and it is spacious for larger operators. Inside are easy-to-operate controls, fully adjustable seat and armrests, and an automatic climate control system that will keep you productive all day long in both hot and cold weather.

Serviceability

Most maintenance points can be easily reached at ground level. Wide service doors provide access to filters, pressure taps, and ports that are grouped together for convenient and speedier service.

Durability

Cat machines cannot be beat for long-term durability, and the 320F is as robust as they come. Modified X-frame structures enhance service life. Booms and sticks are robotically welded for maximum strength, and greased track link between the pins and bushings increase undercarriage life and reduce sound when the machine travels. The high-pressure fuel system with high-pressure pump and injectors enhance durability and reliability, according to the manufacturer.

Safety

A handrail helps take you to the top of the machine, and anti-skid plating and countersunk bolts help reduce the risk of slipping and tripping. The machine has a standard rearview camera, and it also comes with a full-length firewall to separate the pump and engine compartments. Plus a red-colored, ground-level fuel cutoff switch to shut down the engine in case of emergency can be easily found and reached at the seat base.

Technology

Cat Connect technology increases job site efficiency, and Product Link/VisionLink found on the 320F connects you to the machine and critical information like location, fuel consumption, idle time, events and diagnostic codes.

Attachment Solutions

A wide variety of purpose-built Cat attachments extend machine capability into different industries and job site tasks. The Cat pin grabber coupler assures swapping attachments in quick, boosting productivity. Several different bucket styles are available to meet specific excavating and truck loading requirements. The addition of a thumb, compactor, grapple, shear, pulverizer or hammer makes this machine even more productive and more profitable.
