NEW BERN, N.C. (AP) - Police have identified the body found under a house in New Bern's historic district as a 52-year-old woman.
Local media outlets report that authorities this week say the body is that of Cynthia George. Her body was found wrapped in a blanket under a house on November 25 when a construction crew was working on pipes in the crawl space.
George's last known address was in Sneads Ferry. Neighbors say they last saw George this summer when she was moving out of the house she had been renting.
Police are still investigating George's death as suspicious, and a cause of death has not yet been released. Authorities say George had likely been dead for several weeks before her body was found.
